Face and neck lift

Overview

Our face distinguishes us from one another- its structure, appearance and expressions gives us an identity and conveys to the world how we are feeling. As such, age-related changes that can alter the appearance of the face may make an individual feel as if their identity has changed over time.

Changes can occur in the upper, mid, and lower portions of the face and as such different procedures target each of these areas. The mid face lift specifically corrects the aging changes of the lower eyelids, cheeks and nasolabial regions. The lower face/neck lift also corrects these areas but has a stronger emphasis on the jowls and neck regions.

For more information on each of these individual procedures, please see the subheadings below.

Mid-face lift

Often appropriate for individuals who have not yet experienced sagging in the lower face, a mid face lift is performed to rejuvenate the middle portion of the face i.e. the lower eyelid, cheek and nasolabial regions. It can be performed in conjunction with other types of facelift or other facial rejuvenation surgery.

Lower face and neck lift

A lower face/neck lift focuses its attention on reducing the appearance of deep facial wrinkles, sagging jowls, as well as sagging and banding in the neck. There are many variants of the face lift that can be performed including the MACS Lift, S- Lift, ‘SMASectomy' and ‘Plication' type lift. It can also be performed in association with other facial rejuvenation surgery.
